A Closer Look - Inside

Simply remove the thumbscrews holding each side panel in place to access the interior. The interior features the same paint job as the rest of the chassis, and a very large opening in the motherboard tray will give you access to the underside of the CPU area, allowing you to easily change coolers. Another smaller opening gives way to the hard drives if you use the alternative case location. Various holes covered by rubber grommets around the motherboard area allow for easy cable management, thanks to almost 30 mm worth of space between the board and side panel. While there are enough holes and sufficient room behind the tray, In Win included no hooks for cable ties, making a clean-looking interior quite difficult.

The In Win GRone can take a total of eight hard drives. Each drive is held in place in its own individual tray. The top cage holds five while the bottom can take the remaining three. You may remove one or both cages if you need the space for a water-cooling setup. In Win really has gone all out and includes three fans in this area right out of the box—a refreshing sight. With both cages removed, you should have enough space for thick radiators and a pump or reservoir. The alternative mounting position for the smaller hard-drive cage allows you to install a few drives in even extreme scenarios—a pretty cool feature for a case of this price range.

Above these bays are the four external 5.25" bays, each with In Win's signature green push buttons for locks. These secure the drives well, holding as well as screws.

The PSU bay in the rear comes with two rails to hold the unit in place properly. There is also an opening in the floor to give the device access to fresh air. Above that are the eight motherboard-expansion slots. Each slot cover is held in place by a thumbscrew for easy removal. You will find another 140 mm fan in the very top. This traditional, all-black fan without any LEDs raises the count to four, which is more than what most cases in this price range offer.

Take a look at the ceiling of the GRone and you will find another 140 mm unit for a whooping total of five pre-installed fans. Such a setup is extremely rare for a case of this price point. It really is great to see In Win going all out by including fans for all the major areas. The fan controller will also allow you to slow all of these fans down for the best of both worlds: cooling and silence.

There are the 3-pin leads for the fan controller, traditional plugs for both case functionality and I/O, and the top hot-swap bay connected and powered through the appropriate SATA plugs. The fan controller requires a Molex connection.
