Commander 750W PSU

Packaging & Contents

In Win has recently announced their high-end PSU series. We will be looking at the 750 W version, but In Win also offers 650W, 850W, 1200W and 1500W (for 230V only) variants of the Commander. They carry the name Commander and ship in a cardboard box which has a camouflage design. The front simply mentions the rating of the PSU, while the rear goes into greater detail.

You get quite a bit of extras with the Commander 750 W. Besides the manual, which lists all the connections and specifications, you will also receive a few zip ties, the required screws to install the power supply and the power cable.

In addition to that, you also get two bags to hold the cables and the PSU itself. I do not really know why you would need that larger bag to carry the unit around, but it is certainly a nice addition and may also be used for other items.

A Closer Look

The power supply is very heavy, which is a good sign about the quality, as it means that there are a lot of components packed inside the unit. As you can see only the 24 pin ATX power cable is firmly attached, while all other leads can be connected when needed.

In Win seems to be a company that puts a lot of time and effort into details. This is also the case with their Commander PSU. The one side usually visible when opening the chassis has a very nice emblem along with the actual rating of the PSU. Each plug for the seperate cables is clearly labeled and features plastic dust covers - another nice touch. The side with the power plug is made of a honey comb air vent, along with a power switch.

The actual rating for each rail of the Commander 750 W can be found on a large black sticker, which has been placed on the bottom of the PSU. The unit has four 12 V rails with 18 A each - keeping within ATX specifications. All these attributes, the correct marketing of the actual rating of the PSU, the attention to detail and last but not least the weight of the In Win Commander are all attributes of a high quality power supply.
