Incott GHERO Pro Review

Shape & Dimensions »

Packaging

Aside from the mouse, one finds a USB Type-A to Type-C charging cable, wireless extender, wireless dongle, and quick start guide in the box.

Weight

My scale shows around 65 g (+/- 1 g), which is slightly less than the weight cited by Incott. For comparison, the similarly sized and likewise solid-shell VAXEE Zygen NP-01 Wireless weighs 72 g, while the likewise same-sized and solid-shell Zaopin Z2 weighs 66 g. A very good weight.

Cable

The GHERO Pro comes with a paracord-like, braided charging cable (USB Type-A to Type-C), whose flexibility is above average, to where playing while charging without feeling overly restricted is perfectly possible. In addition, the connector is angled to potentially reduce cable drag. Its measured length is 1.80 m, and a ferrite bead is attached.

The charging cable also functions as an extension cable, if used in conjunction with the wireless extender. The wireless extender can be used to keep the distance between dongle and mouse as short as possible.

Feet

The feet on the GHERO Pro are white-dyed pure PTFE (Teflon) feet. They are of average thickness and have slightly rounded edges. Glide is very good. The ring around the sensor ensures CPI stay consistent upon applying vertical pressure.

8K Wireless Dongle

As a separate purchase, Incott offers the 8K Wireless Dongle, which as of this review is compatible with the Incott GHERO and GHERO Pro. After pairing the 8K dongle with the GHERO Pro, polling rates of 2000, 4000, and 8000 Hz will become available in wireless operation. To do so, one first needs to update the firmware of both the dongle and the mouse. Next, the mouse needs to be set to 8K pairing mode, by keeping the left and back side buttons pressed while turning the mouse on. If done successfully, the scroll wheel LED will flash blue. Afterward, the mouse can be paired, by keeping the left, right, and middle buttons pressed while turning the mouse on, and then plugging the 8K dongle in once the scroll wheel LED flashes yellow. Compared to other mice requiring dongle pairing, the procedure on the GHERO Pro certainly is less than convenient, and the fact that pairing the mouse to the 8K dongle will unpair it from the default 1K dongle is another inconvenience.
