Out of the box, the Jackery Explorer 1000 has that classic boxed shape of most packs, but with rounded corners and a single, solid handle on top. Naturally, there is lots of orange and a large company logo on the top of the unit.
The main side of the Jackery Explorer 1000 holds all the inputs and outputs, while the opposite side is completely solid with just the unit's serial number etched into it. On the underside are four orange rubber pads and the mandatory product sticker, which bridges the two sides of the hard plastic enclosure of the Jackery Explorer 1000.
Both ends of the power station have bright orange covers which could be removed with the right hex screwdriver. That said, there is really no need to do so. There is also a single LED built into the front of the Jackery Explorer 1000. You may simply turn it on or off with the press of the orange button next to it. In addition to this, by pressing the button for 3 seconds, the light will flash SOS to draw attention to yourself if need be.
The Jackery Explorer 1000 provides three full-size AC plugs with a switch to turn them all on or off. This is great as you don't have to worry about anything turning on immediately when plugged in. Next to that are the three various USB ports, of which one is that USB-C, 3 A connector, while the other two are USB-A. The bottom of the two is Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 capable, so you can juice up your phone easily and quickly. There is also a 12 V cigarette lighter output with the ability to provide up to 10 A. It could be useful for portable coolers that sport that plug, for example.
The input consists of a connector for the PSU and a special one next to it for your solar panels. Next to these is the display you may turn on with a press of a button even if the Jackery Explorer 1000 is not being used to check the battery level, for example. It turns on instantly and provides you the three core values for a battery pack: input vs. output power and the level/percentage of the battery charge. The other upside of this is that the Jackery Explorer 1000 is ready to go the instant it detects a power-in or output.
