Initial Setup

The Kingston HyperX Predator sticks measure in at 53.99mm in height. Their tall stature is naturally going to lead to issues with some coolers, but as long as you are aware of that from the start, it should not pose much of a problem. You just need to make sure you buy a cooler to match. In my ASUS Maximus V Extreme, they both fit nicely into the two outer DIMM slots with my CoolerMaster TPC812 installed, but this configuration isn't optimal for dual-channel memory operation.

That said, they do look good installed, standing far out from the board's surface in order to, if possible, capture a bit of extra airflow. If they don't interfere with your cooler, and there are coolers on the market built to specifically address this issue, they are sure to get decent airflow across their fins with a cooler that has a fan mounted like mine in these pictures.
