Installing the motherboard inside the Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO XL is easily done, using screws and the pre-installed spacers, thanks to the massive size of the enclosure. As you can see, in the default layout there is an equal amount of clearance at the top and bottom edge of the board. While this is an ATX motherboard, the O11 Dynamic EVO XL can easily take on an E-ATX variant as well.


Adding our largest AIO for case reviews into the chassis - a 360 mm variant, unsurprisingly leaves a ton of room in every direction. Thanks to the offset mounting holes, you also have enough distance to the case body to easily route cables even after installing the unit. As a last step you may place the dust filter on the bracket to keep most dirt and grime out of this part of the chassis.


Before inserting the graphics card, there is the GPU support bracket. It is made of metal and uses spacers secured to the motherboard ones. The actual support itself is spring-loaded, so you may easily move it into position after installing your GPU. Markings on the bracket in mm let you know what position you are at.


Our massive PNY GeForce RTX 4080 barely reaches beyond the motherboard inside the spacious chassis. Additionally, thanks to the functional GPU support, it is easy to align the card so as to reduce any strain on the PCIe slot, while not interfering with the cooling fans of the graphics card.


Adding SSDs to the hinged mounting plate behind the motherboard tray does require a screwdriver to mount the rubber rings so that the unit may be slid into place securely.


The same holds true for the metal trays, which may be used for either a 2.5" or 3.5" drive, as you will have to secure them to the floor of the tray using screws. This ensures the drives are in the exact position to effortlessly interface with the built-in SATA hot-swap brackets. To secure the whole thing, simply slide the locking mechanism to the closed position and tighten the thumb screw.


Adding the PSU is simple but just as effective. Simply place it on the support bracket and use four traditional screws to hold it in place. The fan is meant to be facing outward so that it can draw in fresh air from the vent in the side panel.


With everything installed, the interior of the Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO XL looks quite bare, because our largest test hardware simply doesn't take advantage of the sheer possibilities of the chassis. The cable management result is quite good, but the large radius bend for the cables connecting to the right edge of the board means that these are a bit more visible when compared to traditional cases. In the rear, we deliberately did not use any zip ties and even though there are plenty of additional cables due to the SATA hot-swap brackets, everything fits and once you close the 2.5" HDD plate, it is all hidden. This means you can build a system which can be changed up at any time without having to worry about damaging any wires while attempting to cut zip ties.

With all the panels back in place, turning the Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO XL on, your eye will immediately be drawn to the clean ARGB strip at the front of the chassis. The power button lights up with a subtle white LED as well to let you know your system is up and running.


Thanks to the clear glass, you can see all your components through the front panel as well. In the rear, everything is accessible. As the PSU sits between the two HDD cages, the wire is fairly high up. Lian Li could add some sort of outside cable management in future versions of the chassis to ensure external leads can be kept nice and tidy as well.


The side glass panel with its very gentle tint also means that you can see every installed part. Considering Lian Li offers a vertical GPU mount and even an upright mounting variant to place where the side intake bracket is, having all this visibility is important to show off the hardware. The solid panel on the opposite site is where you will have to install the two other dust filters to ensure any incoming air is cleared of debris as well.

Last but not least, as the Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO XL has a built-in controller, you can cycle through various single- and multicolor animations. On top of that, there are seven solid color options to pick from, which are shown below.
