Introduction

Lian Li Logo

Lian Li went from being a brand with a combination of safe-but-boring or downright wacky case designs to a completely reinvigorated design and engineering team a couple of years ago, which has since been putting out very interesting products relevant to the PC DIY scene. Among these are of course several successful cases we've covered, but also RGB cables, PSUs, and even CPU coolers. Amid all these, Lian Li was one of very few manufacturers to adopt daisy-chained fans via both short cables and integrated connectors, an example of which we saw with the Bitspower Njord Dual Fin, which was taken even further with the UNI Fan series from Lian Li. Today, we examine the latest and possibly greatest entry in the lineup, and thanks to Lian Li for providing TechPowerUp a review sample!

Lian Li is trying out the ALL CAPITAL LETTERS IS BETTER FOR MARKETING strategy with the full product name LIAN LI UNI FAN SL INFINITY 120. However, even the company itself is inconsistent in how this is carried out, so I am just going to refer to these as the Lian Li UNI Fan SL-INF 120 fans. These are an update to the UNI Fan SL 120 that adopt a modular connection and UNI fan hub to easily pair multiples together for easy hardware and software setup, with the "INF" now indicating an on-board infinity mirror lighting effect. The connectors have been tweaked to be even cleaner on the fan side, with further quality-of-life improvements everywhere, including on the software drivers supporting these fans for motor and LED control. We will go through all these today and test how the fans perform in our review which begins with a look at the product specifications in the table below.
