Mach Xtreme FX USB 3.0 Flash Drive 64 GB Review

A Closer Look

As you can see the FX utilizes a very similar housing as the Patriot Magnum. While there are several subtle differences in design, the overall build, choice of materials used and dimensions are nearly identical. Mach Xtreme has printed their flashy company logo on one side while the other has the actual capacity printed on the housing. It is good to see that Mach Xtreme has not simply placed a sticker on here to let the user know what capacity the FX has.

There is a large Aluminum cap with plastic front covering the USB 3.0 connector. It holds well enough so that you generally do not have to worry about loosing it. On the rear there is a little plastic piece to place the cap on when the drive is in use or to route a cable or chain through if you wish to do so.

As you can see, the USB 3.0 connector is rather small when compared to the entire device. This may cause some problems in terms of adjacent plugs on the mainboard or notebook. These may no longer be accessible when using the Mach Xtreme FX USB 3.0 flash drive. The cover snaps into place nicely when placing it on the rear of the stick, further reducing the possibility of loosing it.
