Describing the shape is complicated by the fact that it can be customized in several ways. Aside from increasing the length by extending the back, several of the interchangeable side panels also alter the profile of the sides. Still, the basic profile stays the same no matter what. The R.A.T. Pro X3 Supreme is a short yet comparably wide mouse with no actual hump to speak of other than the exposed back. In fact, that back piece creates a hump that is irritatingly far back. When using the shortest configuration, the hump intervenes with palm placement, while the longer configurations spread the hand out far too much by putting the hump all the way in the back. Furthermore, the "precision aim" button is below the side buttons, right where my thumb sits. Suffice it to say, not hitting that button all the time during use is a challenge in and of itself. Frankly, between the ill-placed sniper button and irritating hump in the back, I had a really hard time using this mouse at all. I'm also a bit perplexed by the fact that the back isn't height-adjustable.
As for grip styles, I'd say the R.A.T. Pro X3 Supreme generally suits palm and claw grip, more or less dependent on which back cover is installed. It's a medium-sized but fairly wide mouse with a very pronounced hump in the back, which may limit its suitability for different hand sizes. For reference, my hands are 19 cm long and 10 cm wide, and I found the R.A.T. Pro X3 Supreme difficult to use in claw grip.
