A Closer Look - Inside

Before we dive into the chassis, there is the topic of the air vent on the solid panel. It is protected by a magnetic dust filter, which suggests that it is meant to act as an active intake area. Upon closer inspection, you will notice that there is a frame to which you could install fans or even liquid cooling. That said, it is covered by a plastic plate out of the box.

There is little to no space behind the compact motherboard tray. You will find a plate for two SSDs and a deeper area above it with two Velcro strips, which is where you should really try to store all the excess cables during assembly.

In the front, you will find a single 120 mm intake fan, but the mounting holes allow you to go for up to two 120 or 140 mm units or up to a 240 mm radiator if you like.

Looking at the floor of the rear, it is nice to see that the Metallic Gear Neo-G Mini ships with a high-quality PCIe ribbon cable, so you should have no issue installing your GPU here. Thanks to the three slots, you should be able to utilize GPUs that are thicker than the classic dual-slot design these days. Best case, the added space allows the fans as much access to the internal air as possible. In the top is just the aforementioned basic but functional PSU bay.

If you don't utilize the mounting possibilities in the front of the case, Metallic Gear includes a plastic cover to close that gap. This area allows for a 3.5" drive to be installed, but you may also add up to two 120 mm fans or even a 240 mm radiator here.

All the cables within the Metallic Gear Neo-G Mini are black and correspond to the case functions as well as the I/O. On top of that, you will find a SATA port and several possibilities to connect lighting elements to the already existing LED-equipped fan.
