Packaging

A quick look at the box shows the cooler in all its full-color glory on the front panel. At the same time, most of us buy our components online; however it is still nice to see crisp, clean packaging. Turning to the left side has the cooler's specifications along with mechanical drawings. As for the back, it lists the cooler's various features, such as quiet operation and an ARGB aluminium top plate, among others.


On the right side, you get a mechanical drawing of the heatsink and fans along with "Metal DT24 Premium" in holographic text, along with the rated 270-watt TDP. As for the top, it is similar to the right-side panel but is now in full color, along with listed support for the various motherboard vendor's ARGB lighting solutions.

A small box on top contains the mounting hardware for the Metal DT24 Premium, while the heatsink and fans are encased in the foam below it. All in all, the packaging provides adequate protection with very little wasted space.


Socket support is not as robust, with support listed only for Intel's LGA115X, LGA1200, and LGA1700 sockets. On the AMD front only Socket AM4 and AM5 are supported. While this does leave the HEDT crowd out in the cold I don't see that as a huge issue, considering the age of the omitted platforms or their lack of market penetration compared to mainstream sockets.
