Installation

Prepare the backplate by securing the backplate screws in place with the plastic washers. Place the backplate onto the motherboard and use the screw pillars to secure it in place.


Attach the mounting bracket to these screw pillars and apply some thermal paste. Now, place and secure the heatsink to the mounting bracket.


Attach the fan and plug it into the motherboard's CPU fan header. Should you want the Gaming Series shield to be illuminated, make sure to plug the LED connector into the fan's provided header.

The mounting hardware used on the MSI Core Frozr L is top notch; it is by no means perfect, but users will find it quite easy to work with. I would rate it a 9 on a scale of 1 (hardest) to 10 (easiest).
