PCB Analysis
MSI has completely redesigned the VRM, which now uses 14 phases for the GPU and three phases for the memory.
The IR3595A voltage controller handles GPU voltage. It is running in seven-phases mode. To achieve 14 phases, MSI is using IR3599 PWM doublers, which feed into IR3555 DrMOS power stages.
The three-phase memory VRM is powered by an IR3570 that sends the PWM signal to three CHL8510 gate drivers, which each drive a Ubiq QM3816N6 dual MOSFET.
The GDDR5X memory chips are made by Micron and are marked with "D9VRL", which decodes to MT58K256M321JA-110. They are specified to run at 1375 MHz (11,000 MHz GDDR5X effective).
NVIDIA's GP102 graphics processor is the company's second-largest chip using the Pascal architecture. It is produced on a 16 nm process at TSMC, Taiwan and has a transistor count of 12 billion and a die size of 471 mm².
