The MSI MPG Z490 Carbon EK X features a 7-phase VRM in a 6 +1 configuration. Each of the six Vcore phases features two power stages in parallel for double the current-handling capability.
The Carbon EK X uses an Renesas RAA 229004 PWM controller, which can drive a total of eight distinct phases.
The MSI MPG Z490 Carbon EK X uses Intersil ISL99360 power stages for all primary phases. These power stages each support a maximum of 60 A of continuous current and feature both overcurrent and over temperature protection.
While 60 A power stages are no longer top of the line, the monoblock cooling solution on the MSI MPG Z490 Carbon EK X will have no trouble keeping the VRM chilled.
The MSI MPG Z490 Carbon EK X has a maximum Vcore output of 720 A.
