The Card
We've seen the new MSI Gaming X Trio design on several recent releases from both AMD and NVIDIA. The RX 6700 XT is the first card to come with a dual-fan variant of the design. MSI was wise to stay true to their design language. The front cooler shroud is made out of plastic, while you'll find a metal backplate on the back.
Dimensions of the card are 28 x 13 cm, and it weighs 1172 g.
Installation requires three slots in your system.
Display connectivity includes three standard DisplayPort 1.4 and one HDMI 2.1.
The card has two 8-pin power inputs. This configuration is rated for up to 375 W of power draw.
The AMD Radeon RX 6000 series doesn't support multi-GPU.
Teardown
MSI's heatsink uses five heatpipes and also provides cooling for the VRM circuitry and memory chips.
The backplate is made out of metal and protects the card against damage during installation and handling.
An anti-sag brace has been installed along the top edge of the PCB.
