Fan Control and Options

Fan speed is controlled by temperature, actual minimums dependent on fan ability.



Fan control on the MSI Z370 GAMING PRO CARBON AC offers a total of six 4-pin fan headers, all pushed via the tasty Nuvoton SuperIO chip pictured above. Although quite capable when manually tuned, I do feel that fan control is an area where MSI could use a little bit of improvement because there isn't a way to tune the power output per fan as with some other boards I have tested. That said, the GAMING PRO CARBON AC does offer both automatic and manual tuning of fan curves, and you can get the same interface in the BIOS as you do in software, so if you would prefer to NOT install any software for fan control, you don't have to. With most boards only offering five 4-pin headers, MSI takes it that slight step further with that additional sixth port.
