A Closer Look
The Mushkin Redline 3200 MHz features a very simple profile. Its stamped heat spreader loops over the top of the stick like waves.
The Mushkin Redline 3200 MHz sports a bold metallic red heatspreader accented by looping crenelation at the top and a silver line along the bottom.
"Redline FROSTBYTE" features on one side, while the Mushkin logo features on the other.
The specifications of the Mushkin Redline 3200 MHz are quite good. 3200 MHz CL16 is pretty much the gold standard for memory at this point.
The sticks are single-sided, and the heat spreader is more than adequate, with the loops adding extra surface area.
I like to weigh a stick from each kit I get as the difference in mass can be pretty drastic between kits. Mass is not the best indicator of cooling efficiency. While material can matter, of course, heat dissipation is reliant on surface area, not volume or mass. That said, it is still interesting to compare.
The Mushkin Redline 3200 MHz comes in at just over 37 g per stick on my scale, which puts them on the low end for total mass. For height, the Mushkin Redline 3200 MHz comes in at a little under 39 mm, which is a good bit under the 45–50 mm average almost all kits conform to. This makes the Redline a great choice where cooler clearance is a concern.
