Initial Setup

Installed in both my test systems, looking at the black heatspreader straight-on, it is invisible. Look at it from the side and the silver accents have a bit of a reflective quality, though nowhere near to where it would win any beauty awards.

I have a quick note before we move into the testing phase, and I will being repeating these words a number of times going forward. Getting straight to the point, this memory kit is pushing the boundaries of what is possible with dual-rank memory. Only a handful of motherboards can actually run it at its rated XMP profile. The Intel-based MSI Z590 ACE is one of those. The AMD system using the MSI B550 Unify-X cannot run these at the rated speed.

There is nothing wrong with the memory, but to even get these to boot at remotely close to the rated frequency requires hands-on tuning of voltages and knowledge about more than just memory. Combined with the fact that not all CPUs have memory controllers that are good enough and the motherboard needing to be up to a certain standard for the traces, this memory is unlikely to run at its rated XMP profile for the causal user.
