Packaging and Contents
The box the NH-L9x65 comes in measures roughly 18.4 cm in length, 13.9 cm in width, and 13.9 cm in height. You will find a list of features, such as its 100% ram and PCIe compatibility, on the front. Meanwhile, short paragraphs on the left side detail those features. The back of the box has a small paragraph in eight languages that again details the cooler's features and specifications and mentions the cooler's NH-L9 award-winning heritage.
The right side of the box lists the heatsink's and fan's specifications in an easy-to-follow format and mentions the scope of delivery (what's included inside the box). On top are the product name, the features, and Noctua's logo, but not much else. This is a very plain and understated box, which isn't always a bad thing.

Upon opening the box, I was greeted by exceptional packaging, which I have come to expect from Noctua. Accessories and mounting hardware are in separately marked boxes and sit on top of the heatsink. A separate cardboard box surrounds and cradles the NH-L9x65 heatsink and fan, providing protection to the cooler on all sides.
Noctua's SecuFirm 2 mounting system makes an appearance, and it, as you would probably expect, supports most sockets out of the box. LGA775 and LGA1336 users are the only ones who need the optional NM-I3 mounting kit for socket compatibility. Other than that, everything one would need has been included, along with a few nice extras that make installing this cooler a little bit easier.
