Game Benchmarks - HL2: Episode One & Riddick
Half-Life 2: Episode One
Half-Life 2: Episode One is once again CPU bound at lower resolutions. Only the 1920x1200 resolution manages to stop the 7900 GTX in its tracks, giving a clear lead to the 7950 GX2.
As soon as the image quality is turned up that gap increases to almost 40% at 1920x1200. The game should be playable with 36 frames per second, even though it may not be perfect, while 23 frames are definitely unplayable.
Chronicles of Riddick
The results for Chronicles of Riddick were very consistent across all resolutions, with the 7950 GX2 taking a clear lead.
Even with AF and AA turned on, the relative lead becomes slightly bigger between the two cards. The game may be somewhat playable at 1680x1050 but becomes a slideshow at 1920x1200 resolution at this point.
