Assembly

Assembly of this system can be summarized in three general steps. First, screw down the mainboard with the four supplied screws and attach the cabling.

Then screw the 2.5 inch hard drive of your choice down tight on the outer wall of the chassis. This spot may not be obvious right off and I ended up searching for the hard drive "bay" for a few minutes. It would have been nice to see a simple manual with a few pictures.

Last but not least, place the filled ODD tray back to where it belongs, wind down the screws and connect the device. Easy as pie!

Finished Looks

Like I mentioned before, the Origen M10 is extremely quiet, which seems to be an aspect other mini ITX HTPC manufacturers are not capable of doing so well. The VFD screen only lights up after downloading the software from the Origen AE site. I tried to do so, but would have taken about 2 hours, so I went straight to the Soundgraph website and downloaded a newer version than Origen AE was offering within 10 minutes instead. If one chooses to offer a 400 Euro chassis without a small CD, then at least make sure that your Internet infrastructure is fast enough so that a 50 MB download won't take hours, not even for international customers. I for one think it would have been really nice to see a small branded USB stick in the package, containing the drivers, which would have been a refreshing change to the usual optical media.
