Efficiency is Gold and its maximum operating temperature meets the ATX specification of 50°C. Its protection features only include the basic ones, and OTP (Over Temperature Protection) is not amongst them. OCP (Over Current Protection) hasn't been included either, since it is meaningless in a high capacity and single +12V rail unit.

The cooling fan utilizes ball bearings for increased longevity, which is a wise choice for a product with such a long warranty.

The unit's length exceeds the standard ATX specification of 16 cm by 2 cm, but you probably won't have any compatibility issues if you have a normal chassis. Finally, the unit's warranty is extra long at seven years, matching Corsair's warranty of their high-end PSU products. The price looks kind of stiff, but it is the MSRP, and the retail price will most likely be lower.

Only a single +12V rail equips the unit, and it can deliver up to 62 A, so it is quite strong. The minor rails have 120 W maximum combined output, which will easily cover all the needs of a modern system, and the 3 A maximum that the 5VSB can output will suffice in most cases.

Cables & Connectors, Power Distribution

Native Cables
ATX connector (625mm)20+4 pin
4+4 pin EPS12V/ATX12V (640mm)2
Modular Cables
6+2 pin PCIe (580mm)4
SATA (400mm+150mm+150mm+150mm)12
4 pin Molex (400mm+150mm+150mm+150mm)4
FDD adapter (+100mm)1

Thankfully, its native cables are limited to three, but that number could be two if the second EPS connector were to sit on a modular cable, something that is highly preferable because almost no one utilizes both EPS connectors.

The amount of provided cables and connectors is adequate for the capacity of the unit, but we have, lately, seen some high-end 750 W units with six PCIe connectors, and PC P&C could follow the same route since the +12V rail of the MK3S750 is quite strong.

The length of all cables is ideal and will allow the PSU to be installed easily, even into full tower cases, and the distance amongst all connectors is pretty large. Some gauges of the ATX connector (the +12V and the earth ones) are of 16AWG size, while the rest are of 18AWG size. All the other connectors also use the standard 18AWG.

Since this PSU features a single +12V rail, we do not have anything to comment on about its power distribution.
