Packaging and Accessories

Packaging for the Phanteks Glacier C370I looks very much like the product box for the older Glacier C350i and thus my job here becomes easier. We get a thick two-piece cardboard box with a predominantly black color scheme that has shades of blue going around. On the front is the brand logo and a subtle Glacier series accompanied by a sticker with the actual product name. There is another label on the side that lets you know whether you have the black or white version. Two seals on the sides help keep the box contents in place during transit. Opening the box reveals a thin foam sheet adding protection to the block which comes placed in a separate compartment with more foam all around. The attached cable goes through a cutout into the bottom layer where the rest of the accessories are found.

Phanteks includes a handy user manual (online copy here) that goes over the list of contents and installation of the block. We then get two plastic pouches, the smaller of which contains the Intel socket backplate. This adopts a large rectangular form factor and is made of steel with markings on the corners to indicate where the pre-assembled threads need to be for LGA 115x/1200 or the larger LGA 1700. One of these was loose in my bag and I had to put it back together using the metal thread and the plastic clip that holds it in place. It's fairly obvious which side contacts the motherboard since there is an insulating contact piece here with tape on top to help stick it in place.

The other set includes four each metal standoffs for LGA 115x/1200 and LGA 1700, a tube of Phanteks PH-NDC thermal paste allowing for multiple mounts of the block if needed, an L-shaped 3 mm hex key to aid in installation of the block, and an RGB adapter cable that accepts the 3-pin JST connector from the block and gives you a more standard 3-pin, 5 VDC ARGB connector to use with a compatible motherboard LED header. The cable also has a daisy-chain connection for use with other devices.
