Packaging

The miniscule PQI i-mini ships in a white cardboard package with a little window that allows you take a look at the unit before buying it. A little booklet hidden inside the back of the cardboard box gives you some insights into the units warranty and its features.

A Closer Look

The unit is truly tiny, barely bigger than the USB connector itself. PQI is able to offer such a compact drive because of their patented C.O.B technology. I know of one other vendor that offers a flash drive with such dimension: Patriot. Whether they source their drive from the likes of PQI I do not know. The front of the i-mini only has the PQI logo, while the rear has the capacity and model name edged into it.

You will find the serial number of the drive laser-edged into the side of the connector. Peak into it to find the blue plastic, a tell-tale sign of this flash drive using the USB 3.0 interface.

A tiny attachment with the PQI logo and a small clip are part of the drive right out of the box. This should allow you to attach the unit to your key chain without much trouble. Things look and feel sturdy enough, so you will not have to worry about the drive suddenly snapping off and disappearing somewhere with all your precious data on it.
