Performance Summary with Multiple Clients


This NAS/switch combination doesn't seem to have any problem with multiple clients asking for huge volumes of data. The server's CPU is more than capable of handling such usage scenarios. The only limit will be the storage capacity of two SSDs, and two NVMe drives if you don't use the latter as SSD cache.


As you can see in the screenshots above, system utilization was low during my intense multi-client tests. The hardware of this machine can cope with more challenging scenarios.

SSD Cache vs. Without SSD Cache



Two Corsair MP510 240 GB NVMe drives in RAID 1 mode were used as SSD cache to figure out the performance boost of SSD cache. As you can see in the graph above, the significant difference is in IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second).
