The Package

QPAD likes to keep things simple when it comes to their box art and the MK-70 is no different. It arrived in a big white box with a picture of the keyboard and information about its features. The box provides ample protection even against the less-than-gentle shipping agents.

Closer Examination

The MK-70 looks pretty much like its bigger brother, the MK-85, but lacks the USB hub and audio pass-through. To be honest, we do not miss those features as the implementation on gaming keyboards is a bit odd with the USB ports facing away from you, and relatively few headsets have cords short enough for the pass-through idea to work as intended.

QPAD sticks to the normal layout, which is nice. You get a box-standard keyboard with sn unaltered arrow and 10-key section, which is the way it should be. Many manufacturers get this important aspect wrong by removing spacing between buttons or even adding unnecessary buttons to the layout.

Unlike the previous MK-80/85 keyboards, the MK-70 uses a default USB output, rather than PS/2. Use the included adapter and you will also benefit from the keyboard's full anti-ghosting capability.

Like with previous QPAD keyboards, you can angle the deck by raising two small stands on the back. This makes it much more comfortable to type on for the normal user.
