Introduction
QPAD build their brand on a series of great gaming mats that range from hybrid to hard plastic. Today, we will look at their two newest mats, the UC50 and FX90. When it comes to gaming mouse mats, size does matter to some extent. The UC50 measures in at a whooping 50 x 42 cm and the FX90 at an impressive 90 x 42 cm. Both the UC and FX-series come in five sizes, so you definitely get to pick a size that fits your needs.

QPAD ships these mats in some pretty anonymous boxes.
Closer Examination
Size 50 looks to be a real crowd pleaser because of its generous but not over-the-top size and well-performing surface. The UC will be the go-to mat for those who prefer soft old-style mats with a decent amount of friction, and the FX-series will be for those who want a slightly faster surface. You get slightly less friction on the FX-series, and it is more consistent with starts and stops.
QPAD clearly knows how to construct a well-performing base layer, and the one featured on the UC and FX mats is pretty close to perfect. It is 4 mm thick and is bonded to the surface nicely.
You can feel the logo QPAD printed onto the surface, which makes the lower left corner of the mat a bit odd to run over. The good news obviously is that you will newer be left wanting more space as this mat is 50 x 42 cm large.
The FX is so huge that we had to put it on the floor in order to fit it into one shot.
Above are several differently angles shots of these mats. The weave is extremely fine on QPAD's UC and FX-series mats.
