A Closer Look - Inside

To gain access to the interior, simply remove the thumbscrews holding each panel in place, before prying them off the chassis. The previously mentioned magnetic metal-mesh dust filter can be found stuck to the panel's right vent. The interior looks quite similar to what we have seen in other cube cases with a horizontal board layout. You can access the interior freely through both sides, which should come in handy when connecting all the cables.

The two 120mm fans in front are set to push cool air into the chassis. You may add two more such units here or go for a 240mm radiator instead. You will also find four plastic trays for your hard drives below the motherboard. Above the fan are the 3.5'' and 5.25" drive bays, which you may remove to give way to a proper liquid-cooling setup, for instance.

In the bottom of the rear are the 140mm fan and the PSU bay, both of which bear no surprises. However, there is the dual connector on each fan for both a 3-pin connector and a Molex plug so that you may freely pick how to power these.

The motherboard tray looks like that of an mATX tower that has been placed on a surface horizontally. It comes with a 140mm exhaust fan above and an opening underneath the CPU area, which is nice to have, though you probably won't get to it with the PSU in place. There are five grommet-covered openings for cable-routing purposes, regardless of whether you use a mini-ITX or mATX board.

You may actually remove the entire tray for assembly outside the chassis, which is a nice feature. However, thanks to great accessibility, doing so is only necessary in extreme scenarios.

Taking a look at the ceiling, you can clearly see how any fan placed there would get in the way of the optical drive bay. Also, the metal-mesh cover comes with its own dust filter.

All the cables within the Aeneas are of the standard variety. Raijintek chose to go with an additional Molex plug as the case sports two lighting elements in front which require more power than some boards may be able to supply. All leads come with black sleeving to keep with the interior's overall color scheme.
