Shape

The Razer Viper 8K is a fully ambidextrous (symmetrical) mouse, which means there are side buttons on both sides. The side buttons are slightly recessed to ensure those on the other side don't get in the way. Its shape lacks any aggressive curves, even Razer's signature front flare is absent. While the butt is notably widened, the front stays fairly slim and flares out only slightly from the middle. The hump is centered, but the gradual slope is just mildly pronounced as the Viper 8K keeps its profile low. Even across its width, the top of the mouse is very flat. Around the grip area, the sides curve inward horizontally, but stay mostly straight vertically. The rather deep comfort grooves on the main buttons are the only somewhat fancy shape-specific design element. Overall, the Viper 8K has a fairly conservative, yet simple and elegant shape that handles well in practice.

As for grip styles, I'd say the Viper 8K is mostly suited for claw or fingertip grip as there is little palm support to allow for fully palming it unless one's hands are on the smaller side. It's a medium-sized mouse with a barely pronounced hump, which makes it suitable for most hand sizes. For reference, my hands are 19 cm long and 10 cm wide, and I found the Viper 8K very comfortable in claw grip.

Dimensions

This table includes the dimensions of the Razer Viper 8K and several other ambidextrous mice. "Front height" denotes the distance between the base and main buttons. Measurements with two decimals have been taken with a caliper, while those with one decimal have been taken with a ruler. For a full list of all measurements taken, please refer to this sheet compiled by an esteemed community member.
