Razer Viper V3 Hyperspeed Review

Introduction

Razer Logo

Founded in 1998, Razer is a US-based peripherals and gaming equipment company. After the DeathAdder, Basilisk, and Naga lines of mice, the Viper series finally receives an AA-battery driven Hyperspeed variant with the Viper V3 Hyperspeed. The Viper V3 Hyperspeed is also the first Viper to debut a revised shape: the main buttons are now framed by ledges, the hump height has been increased slightly, and the overall dimensions have been altered here and there. While the Viper V3 Hyperspeed is equipped with the same Focus Pro 30K sensor also used on the Viper V2 Pro, second-generation Razer mechanical switches rated for 60 million clicks instead of optical ones are used for the main buttons to maximize battery life. Speaking of, Razer advertises a battery life of up to 280 hours when using an Alkaline AA-battery. With the included AA-battery, the Viper V3 Hyperspeed weighs around 80 g, and 57 g without any battery. Much like on the Viper V2 Pro, the feet are made of non-dyed pure PTFE. A novelty for a Hyperspeed mouse is compatibility with the HyperPolling Wireless Dongle, enabling true 8000 Hz wireless polling. Lastly, the usual customization options are present within Razer Synapse.
