Software

The software is somewhat basic, but has all the important functions. The first page has the lighting options, which are detailed below. All button-remapping options (keyboard, media, and macro functions) have been put on the second page. The third page includes CPI adjustment ranging from 100–12,400 (native: 6200) CPI in increments of 100 for five levels. Polling rate can be set to 125, 250, 500, or 1000 Hz. The fourth page houses the macro editor. Profile management is on board, too. On my system, the software had a RAM footprint of 65 MB on average.

Lighting

The M808 Storm has three lighting zones: the scroll wheel and two side strips. Seven lighting effects are available: Breathing, Rainbow, Full Lighted, Wave, Go Without Trace (top to bottom transition), Reactive (reacts to button presses), and Flash (blinking effect). Speed and brightness can be adjusted further. Of course, disabling the lighting altogether is also possible.

Color accuracy and vibrancy are excellent throughout. For some reason, the lighting appears to flicker in the video, but doesn't in reality. Maybe, the LED modulation runs at a specific frequency that elicits this effect? Anyway, here's a short demonstration video of the Rainbow, Wave, Flash, and Go Without Trace lighting effects:
