A Closer Look
For Mini-ITX system owners, finding a good cooler that fits into small cramped spaces can be a royal pain, and Reeven looks to offer a solution with their Steropes cooler.
It consists of seventy-two aluminum fins, one top plate, and five heatpipes. The latter transfer heat to the very top. Overall, the Steropes is pretty damn solid and of very good build quality.
It is easy to see the Reeven name and two rows of tiny air holes which have been stamped into the top plate. This adds a bit of flair to the design and hides the heatpipes from view. The heatpipes run into a copper base for even heat transfer with a secondary heatsink on top of the base, increasing the surface area and improving cooling performance. The base itself is smooth and flat and comes with a decent finish. While not polished to a mirror sheen, it is still a great deal better than the rougher copper bases I have seen.
Reeven paired the Steropes with a 120 mm x 12 mm PWM fan. This thin low-profile fan keeps the cooler's overall height at a low 60 mm. The fan has an RPM range of 500-2000 and its model number is RM1212S208-P.
