Shape

The shape of the Burst Core is clearly inspired by the Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical (WMO): A widened butt, a front that doesn't flare out, and mostly straight sides. There is a key difference, though. Whereas the hump on the WMO is dead center and gradually slopes down towards both ends, the hump on the Burst Core is positioned more towards the back. This makes the Burst Core better for claw grip, but also affects the dynamic of the shape as a whole, as the butt ends up fuller and more obstructive as on the WMO. Depending on hand size and grip, making vertical adjustments may be easier on the WMO by comparison. Still, the overall profile is sufficiently similar, so long-time WMO fans will no doubt find great joy in the Burst Core. All in all, it's a very neutral and agreeable shape that handles perfectly well in practice.

As for grip styles, I'd say the Burst Core generally suits all three main grip styles (palm, claw, and fingertip grip). It's a medium-sized mouse with a moderately pronounced hump, which should make it generally suit most hand sizes. For reference, my hands are 19 cm long and 10 cm wide, and I found the Burst Core very comfortable in claw grip.

Dimensions

This table includes the dimensions of the ROCCAT Burst Core and several other ambidextrous mice. "Front height" denotes the distance between the base and main buttons. Measurements with two decimals have been taken with a caliper, while those with one decimal have been taken with a ruler.
