ROCCAT Kone Pro Air Review

Shape

The shape of the Kone Pro Air is best described as a blend between the smaller Kone Pure Ultra and larger Kone EMP. It inherits a design trait common to both, which is the thumb groove on the left, though it is not as pronounced on the Kone Pro Air. The right side has been subtly revised as well, in that the rear flare now bottoms out, resulting in a more pronounced, yet less interfering curvature. The hump is placed in the middle, relatively flat across the width, and slopes down gradually towards both ends. That is, the raised left side commonly encountered on right-handed ergonomic mice is mostly absent, and with it the resulting shift in height between the left and right sides. The front is rather narrow, whereas the back gets quite wide. The main buttons lack comfort grooves entirely, just like earlier Kone releases. Overall, a refined design focused on comfort that works accordingly well in practice.

As for grip styles, I'd say the Kone Pro Air is suited for all three grip styles; i.e., palm, claw, and fingertip grip. It is a medium-sized mouse with a moderately pronounced hump, which should make it suit most hand sizes. For reference, my hands are 19 cm long and 10 cm wide, and I found the Kone Pro Air very comfortable in claw grip.
