As a reference, the 250GB Seagate 7200.10 drive has an average read speed of 84.9MB/s and a CPU utilization of 4%.
Inside the Rosewill RX82-U both drives manage an average read speed of 30.8 MB/s at 0% CPU utilization. This is the best result seen on this motherboard's USB ports, but it would have been even better if an eSATA connections was provided.
Here the numbers are repeated in graph form, with some flash drives added for comparison.
Also worth noting was that the Seagate drives were kept relatively cool by the onboard fan. Ambient temperature was kept to 22º Celsius (+/- 1 degree), and the drives ran consistently at 29ºC.
