Finished Looks

The Scythe Mugen 4 looks good when installed. Its unique fin-stack design and the heatpipe caps give it a finished look, though its appearance is rather plain.

The included black fan makes the cooler blend in well while looking good, and with almost any build as it won't clash with most color schemes motherboards currently sport. Matching nearly all components, it a versatile cooler.

Overall clearance is fantastic with the Mugen 4 as it does not block access to the 8-pin EPS plug or fan headers. There is also ample clearance around the motherboard's heatsinks.

Memory clearance when installed in a traditional manner is okay. Two DIMM slots are blocked so only standard or slightly taller memory will fit. Users that would like to utilize kits like Corsair's Dominator Platinums will run into problems, though; granted, this is a common occurrence with most heatsinks currently available. The Mugen 4 does offer ample space for the first expansion slot. Users can then rest easy knowing it won't stop them from utilizing a sound card or, in some cases, the primary PCIe x16 slot, which would depend on the motherboard and its expansion-slot arrangement.
