The following table goes over the material acronyms you will come across while searching for a gaming or office chair. Not only does this table go over what each acronym stands for, but the material traits of each entry are also detailed.

Assembly

The first thing we come across in the package is the five-star base. Turn the five-star base upside down on a flat surface and press the caster wheels into their respective openings firmly. Doing so doesn't take excessive force. After turning the five-star base the right way, insert the gas lift and install the hydraulics sleeve on top.


The seat's base is the heaviest item in the package, which has properly aligning it with the gas lift take two people. The backrest is the last component to be installed, prior to which the four screws on each of the backrest's sides have to be removed. The backrest is light, which had me align it to the seat's base by myself. Before installing the screws, pull up the backrest's tilt lever to have the seat's metal bracket spring forward. Secretlab states that we should first install the backrest to then pull the backrest's tilt lever up, but we found going through these steps backwards easier!


Make sure to keep your hands off the chair while doing so, as the caution label indicates. Someone needs to hold the backrest in place while the second person secures it to the seat's brackets with screws.


We do have to mention a detail that is of great importance as far as the assembly procedure is concerned: The openings for the backrest's screws are nicely done - the screws are quickly put into place, which leaves but the side covers that have to be installed.


We can place the head cushion around the backrest by sliding it over the chair's upper part.

We did not find it difficult to assemble this chair. However, it took us approximately thirty minutes, and we had to ask someone else to help us out, though mainly only because it takes a bit more time if you have to shoot a video of the whole procedure at the same time. We didn't need a Phillips screwdriver even though it was mentioned in the assembly instructions since the Allen key was sufficient. We liked the warning labels in the bundle and on the seat's base. For users who might find a particular step of the assembly procedure difficult, Secretlab does provide an online video on their website.

Initial Impression

The chair's overall aesthetic and its building quality seem to be really good. The design certainly appears to be similar to many chairs that exist already, but the Titan bears some modifications that, once spotted, are greatly appreciated.


Our Titan chair is covered in a black upholstery featuring a red stitching pattern and golden-embroidered inscriptions, which are visible from afar. The chair's overall appearance suits that of any working or gaming environment.

Both the base and backrest are hard. Despite the hard cushioning, though, the Titan does offer comfort, support, and, most important of all, a right body posture due to the fact that your feet are not dangling from the chair because of the seat's depth, while the back is properly propped up against the backrest as there is no lumbar cushion to interfere in between. However, users unaccustomed to such hard cushioning will need a few days to get used to it. This chair does in our opinion offer the expected ergonomics, which helps with relieving a user's existing back problems during even long working or gaming sessions.


The prime PU upholstery is soft, waterproof, and cigarette resistant; the latter is a requirement according to the 1988 safety regulations. The seat's base is more than deep enough for large users.
