Sennheiser GSP 600 Review

Build Quality and Comfort

Despite its size, the GSP 600 is extremely flexible, which means it won't have trouble surviving a fall from the table, or similar mishaps. The photos you see here were made after using it for over a month. If you look closely, you'll notice that it has absolutely no scratches or any other signs of wear. Even though the headset is predominantly encased in plastic, the overall build quality is excellent.

The massive ear cushions completely surround the ears and form a nice seal with the sides of the head. It's interesting that the front part of the cushions is covered in a suede-like material. Sennheiser claims that this prevents it from sticking to the skin, which can certainly be an issue with pleather ear cushions when used in the summer months. The sides of the ear cushions are covered in pleather with the intention of improving the passive noise isolation. The ear cushions feel great, doing a fantastic job of ensuring a truly superb level of wearing comfort. Even though the GSP 600 is a bit on the heavy side, the person wearing it is never aware of that. The weight distribution is next to flawless.

As I mentioned on the previous page of this review, the clamping force of the headset can be adjusted by using the sliders located on the headband. My preferred setting was to have them as close to the center of the headband as possible, which results in a lower clamping force, but not so low that the headset would dance around the head. Someone with a differently shaped and sized head will probably prefer another setting. The choices are there.

The inner side of the headband is padded with a thick layer of foam covered in mesh fabric.

The ear cups have the freedom to move in various directions in order to adjust to various head shapes. They can also be adjusted in "height" - moved along the headband, to be more clear. Unfortunately, there are no markings on the headband that would make it easier to figure out if we adjusted their height equally. You'll have to play with it a bit and figure out what works best for you.

To sum it up, the GSP 600 is both superbly comfortable and very well-made.
