The Sharkoon Elite Shark CA700 is a massive, elaborately designed case that clearly puts looks front and center. With its high part count and extensive use of big screws, as well as metal, the chassis oozes that "wow" factor for a nice pairing with the highest-end components in a completely lit up, no-limits system. While Sharkoon also offers more mainstream cases in the Elite Shark series, the black and white CA700 aims to pull out all the stops.

Package and Unboxing

The Elite Shark CA700 ships in an absolutely massive box with branding on all four sides. There is a warning that this whole thing weighs 26.6 kg, just under 60 lb, so you may want to have someone help you lug it around. Inside that shipping box is another with different branding.


Once you open it up, you are greeted by some paperwork and a foam cutout holding both side panels of the chassis firmly and securely with layers of foam between each.


Taking off that top layer, you can see why the package is so large. The already massive Sharkoon Elite Shark CA700 ships nearly fully assembled with lots of room around the foam cutouts for an added element of protection. The chassis itself is further protected by a black, branded cloth bag, and parts of the chassis have been put into two other foam boxes in the belly of the beast.


Inside that foam tray, you will find another smaller bagged foam box with cutouts for the expansion slots parts of the Sharkoon Elite Shark CA700. These allow you to install your cards either traditionally, mixed with two vertical slots or using three dedicated vertical slots instead. The only other case parts are the two white covers, one for the top and the other for the front of the enclosure.


The large 4-mm thick glass panel is tinted and asymmetrically shaped to fit the chassis design. There is also that metal cover in the same general shape with a bit layered in white metal as well. This panel will go onto the other side of the Elite Shark CA700. While many brands opt to offer two glass panels, thus exposing the potentially messy side behind the motherboard tray, Sharkoon will at most allow a small peek through the cutouts of this otherwise solid part.
