Performance Rating

The following graph compares the total performance rating of the NAS to that of other units. The comparison is pretty straight forward as the tested unit is shown as 100% and every other unit's performance is relative to it. Please note that we only measure raw performance in the graph below, not a unit's available features and its functionality.

Performance per Dollar

The following graph is probably the most interesting to most of you because it illustrates how much a NAS's performance will set you back. We looked up the current USD price of each NAS on the popular online shop Newegg and used it and all relative performance numbers to calculate the performance-per-dollar Index. In case Newegg doesn’t stock a specific unit, we search for it at other popular online shops (Tigerdirect, Amazon), and if the unit is not sold in the U.S., we search popular EU shops (e.g. Caseking) and convert its price to dollars.
