A Closer Look - Outside
The barebone comes with a protective plastic film on its face to avoid any accidental scratches during the initial setup process. The finish is of good quality, though glossy enough to attract fingerprints.
The upper port reveals the ODD slot, while the bottom slot hides the front's I/O ports. The on/off switch is quite large, but we like its design very much. We wish there were also a reset switch, though.
The two of cooling fans on one side are clearly visible because there are a large number of exhaust holes on the side panel.
The rear is brimming with VGA-, USB-, Ethernet-, and sound ports. There is even a serial port for all of you vintage-equipment lovers who still use this ancient communications protocol.
On the bottom of the unit is a small label. It describes the power requirements and provides you with the address of Shuttle's headquarters should you want to pay them a visit.
