A Closer Look - Outside
The SH87R6 uses the new R6 chassis, which looks absolutely fantastic thanks to its black-brushed finish (hair-line finish). The optical drive at the front hides behind a door the drive's tray automatically opens.
The power button is pretty large, so you won't miss it. Right next to it are the Power and HDD LEDs.
A door at the front-bottom of the chassis provides access to various I/O ports, including two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0, line-out, and mic-in ports.
Both sides of the chassis have vent grills, which gives its internals access to fresh air.
Both the small 50 mm fan of the PSU and the larger fan used by the I.C.E. cooling system are at the rear. The PSU unfortunately doesn't have an on/off switch, though it would come in handy often—for system upgrades and other occasions where you have to completely cut power to the system off. The mainboard features enough I/O ports, including DVI-I and HDMI outputs, two USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports, an eSATA and Ethernet port, and audio in and out. There is also a clear CMOS switch should you want to reset the BIOS, and we also noticed an optical out port.
The PCIe slots unfortunately don't use a tool-less mechanism.
