A Closer Look - Outside
Taking a quick first look at the Gladius Q50, it scores with its simple, understated design and use of aluminum. Before continuing, let us talk about the elephant in the room: yes, this is essentially the same chassis as the Raijintek Metis or Raidmax Atomic, but as seen below, SilentiumPC does include an extra feature.
While the front is completely solid and clean, the rear is where how the interior looks becomes apparent. The board is installed upside down to make the best use of what little space there is. SilentiumPC also added a dust filter for the rear exhaust fan, which none of the other brands have done.
Both sides are solid as well, so there is not much to talk about here. The only noteworthy facet are the four screws holding each panel in place. These may wear down and look ugly after you've removed them too often, so be careful.
You will find both USB 3.0 ports in the top alongside the usual audio I/O. Taking a quick look at this little beast's belly, it hints at where you will install some of the drives within.
