Random IO
Very surprising results for 5 TB random write. These results are accurate, I tested them several times. It seems the SMR recording technology is able to absorb bursts of random writes and groups them into a single write operation, which reduces the head seek time penalty we're usually seeing in this test.
Sustained Write Speeds
Pretty unexpected patterns here, too, certainly due to SMR. Overall write speeds are good with 110 to 125 MB/s.
