Silverstone Argon AR03 Review

Finished Looks

The Silverstone Argon AR03 really stands out. The bright blue color of the fan and untouched aluminum fin stack result in a visually appealing CPU cooler.

Clearance around the socket looks fairly good on LGA2011. LGA1155 and AM3+ users should still see great clearance, but that also depends on the motherboard.

Not only would cooling performance improve if users decided to add an extra fan, but the extra splash of color would make this a really nice CPU cooler to use in a blue- and/or white-themed case. Silverstone's very own Precision series PS06 would be a great fit for this cooler as the white offers a nice contrast to the black.

Memory clearance is fairly good, at least on my test bench. The cooler may collide with tall memory heatspreaders on LGA1155 and AM3+ boards; however, that will slightly depend on motherboard- and memory selection. This will not be a problem if you only use two DIMMs.

When it comes to clearance under the heatsink itself, there is only a small amount of room. Sticks of a normal height will have no issues here. Another shot from above again shows just enough clearance on my test bench for tall memory modules.
