A Closer Look

SilverStone's AR11 makes use of four Ø6 mm heatpipes that transfer heat directly from the CPU to the sixty-two aluminium fins, which makes this a very dense heatsink, to say the least.

The fan itself screws directly into the heatsink rather than using clips, which is nice. Overall, it's a very compact and dense design, and I have to wonder how effective the 92 mm x 15 mm fan will in forcing air through such a tightly packed heatsink.

The heat pipes are arranged in a U-shape with two transferring heat to each side of the fin stack. The base is an HDC (heat pipe direct contact) design that is a mix of both copper heat pipes and the aluminium fins.

The fan is a 92 mm design that is only 15 mm thick, and it has a PWM RPM range of 1200-3000. Silverstone once again goes with the colored wiring rather than sleeving them. Just for appearance's sake, I would have preferred black wiring or at least some sleeving.
