Assembly
Installing the motherboard is done utilizing spacers and screws. While there is little to no space on the bottom edge, the two cable-routing holes line up well for most cables. It would have been nice to have another small opening below the audio connector, which usually resides in the bottom-left corner of boards, though. There is plenty of space for long GPUs even with the cutout in the shroud for liquid cooling, as you have well over an inch of room even with the Palit GeForce RTX 2080 Ti.
Adding an SSD to your system requires special screws and rubber rings. Once attached, you can slide the drive into one of two spots on the motherboard tray. The drives sit horizontally, so in our case, the label was right side up too. The connectors line up perfectly with corresponding openings, so you should have no issues reaching these even with lots of hardware within the Fara V1M Pro.
To add a 3.5" unit, you will need classic screws. Within the cage, such a storage device is secured from the sides, while done from below when adding a unit to the top of the HDD cage. Once filled, simply slide it back into place. The cage utilizes the same rubber-ringed screw setup as the 2.5" drives, so there is plenty of rubber separating any drives from the chassis.
Installing a PSU is straightforward as well, but the shroud is a bit tight with the wires installed. It had to be squeezed past the audio cable, but on the upside, there is ample space for cables, so even slightly longer units will comfortably fit with the HDD cage in the most-forward position.
Adding a 240 mm liquid-cooling unit to the ceiling, while advertised as possible, is not really recommended. On one hand, there is not enough clearance between the motherboard's top edge and the chassis, so most VRM heatsinks on this top edge will collide with the radiator. Even after that cooler was removed, leaving the VRM without any passive cooling, the high-profile RGB ADATA memory got in the way of a fan, so those had to be replaced with more basic, low-profile DIMMs.
With everything installed, the SilverStone Fara V1M Pro is actually nice and clean. The PCIe power cable has been routed through the small opening in the shroud, and there is otherwise no visible cable mess inside the enclosure. Owing to numerous hooks for zip ties on the backside, cable management possibilities are great.
Finished Looks
Turning the SilverStone Fara V1M Pro on, you are greeted by a blue power LED in the top and two V-shaped ARGB strips in the front of the enclosure.
The case design is quite nice, with the single ARGB fan on the bottom complementing the two strips as they converge towards the bottom of the front. The side glass panel is essentially clear, so you can easily see all your hardware even without internal illumination, while the rear presents itself as you would expect from a modern tower chassis.
You may cycle through a few single and multi-color animations with the built-in button at the top. Additionally, there are the default seven solid color choices shown below.
