Finished Looks

The Hydrogon D120 ARGB won't be grabbing your attention at first glance. There are no fancy logos or heat-pipe cover; instead, SilverStone opted for a far more fundamental and traditional look. As such, what you see is what you get: two aluminium fin stacks and a couple of fans. That is, until you plug the ARGB fan headers in, at which point the cooler becomes much more appealing visually, at least if you prefer ARGB lighting.

When it comes to memory and graphics card clearance, there really isn't much to report. Memory cleared the front fan just fine, and the graphics card is nowhere near touching the fan clips, so no worries there, either. Overall, it offers perfect clearance on our AMD and Intel test benches.

The ARGB lighting on the fans is quite good. While each fan only has eight ARGB LEDs, the illumination is rather uniform. The LEDs, while noticeable, are not blatantly so as the more opaque hub and fan blades do a decent job diffusing the light. This means there is a trade-off between brightness and uniformity, with SilverStone opting for the latter. This doesn't mean the LEDs themselves are not bright enough; in fact, I found them to be just right in that they add visual flair without being so bright as to overpower other ARGB components in a build.
