Installation

First things first, SilverStone does not include a manual with this cooler. Instead, you can either scan the QR code on the box or navigate to their website for the manual. While I am not a fan of this change, I can understand it from a cost-saving standpoint. It certainly doesn't make me happy, though.

That said, to install the SilverStone PF240 on Intel's mainstream socket, you will need to prepare the backplate. This entails securing the backplate screws with the black plastic washers. With the backplate ready, secure it to the motherboard with the black plastic spacers which, when oriented correctly, will snugly fit over the metal backplate screws and hold everything in place.

Next, apply thermal paste before securing the pump in place with the included spring-loaded screws as noted in SilverStone's online manual.

With the pump secure, it is time to mount the radiator and the fans, after which all that remains is to plug in all the various wires to get everything operational.

Overall, I would rate my installation of the SilverStone PF240 a 9 on a scale of 1 (hardest) to 10 (easiest). In general, mounting the cooler is straightforward, and the mounting hardware itself is reliable. My only gripe is the lack of an included manual, which, suffice it to say, sucks having to read on a medium-sized smartphone.
