A Closer Look - Outside

Out of the box, the PS15 looks just like you would expect. As a glass panel is essentially mandatory these days, you will see one on this chassis as well. Overall build quality is great for a chassis of this price segment.

A metal mesh front panel allows for nearly unrestricted airflow into the chassis should you install fans or liquid cooling there. You may pull the whole panel off to reveal a slew of mounting possibilities, which make the installation of your choice of two 120/140 mm fans or up to a 240 mm radiator possible. In the rear, with the PSU bay on the bottom, the layout is pretty traditional by today's standards.

The main side panel features a glass cover that is held in place by four thumbscrews. It is framed in black to cover the frame's tooling holes and fold lines nicely and comes with a subtle tint, which makes showing off the hardware easy. On the other side is a simple but effective steel panel in a traditional 2-thumbscrew configuration.

Looking at the rear, the PSU bay comes with two sets of mounting holes, but you should really direct the fan toward the underside for it to pull in cool, filtered air. Above that are the four expansion slots, with the top cover being reusable while the bottom three are of the break-out kind. This is a good compromise and gives users the option of slightly changing their configuration without being stuck with an open hole. In the very top is a single 120 mm fan set to push hot air out of the back. It is the only active cooling component inside the PS15 out of the box. While this is pretty standard with more affordable enclosures, we have seen a recent rise in brands adding more and more fans to their offerings for added value, especially at the price point of the Precision PS15.

On the underside, a basic metal mesh filter keeps most of the dirt and grime out of the PSU. In the top, on the other hand, is a magnetic dust filter that protects any fan/radiator assembly from larger debris. Silverstone has included two 3.0 USB ports alongside the usual audio I/O, which is the perfect no-frills setup for a case of this price segment.
